1.)Describe your character's relationship with their mother or their father, or both. Was it good? Bad? Were they spoiled rotten, ignored? Do they still get along now, or no?

As the third child of the Metal's head honcho, Sodium was a child who rarely got to see his parents. They'd always been busy rearing Lithium and Beryllium and often forgot about the other children. Sodium was only four when his two parents were killed in a car accident that to this day, remains suspicious. Because the boy was so young, he never had any resentment towards them; Sodium just lacked proper emotional development due to the lack of the attention. It wasn't until a miraculous turn around that Beryllium paid mind to the younger and began treating him the way a father should; with a keen interest as well as an honest bond of brotherly love. Lithium didn't come into his life until later on, but he views both of them as very important people and though he misses his brother dearly, he fights hard to make sure his older sister is happy and his younger one is always cared for.

2.)What are your characters most prominent physical features?

Sodium's most prominent feature would have to be his hair and eyes which are both strange, diluted colors. His eyes, rather than the sharp purple of his family, are a light, cloudy blue, almost as if he were blind in both. Though technically, he does have bad eye sight and so he constantly wears glasses. But once off, they give off a feeling of serenity and are rather beautiful. He's also got thick lashes that constantly bat against the glass of his frames. His hair, too, is a light ginger color in contrast to his siblings. The color is so light that in the light, it can appear almost golden, rather than red. As a child, people would often state he looked like a spitting image of his mother.

3.)Name one scar your character has, and tell us where it came from. If they don't have any, is there a reason?

Sodium is a man without scars, his skin well taken care of. The reason he lacks scars is because he's the technology gifted child of the Metals household, and so he spends most of his time within the lab collecting and analyzing information. Though he knows how to wield a gun, he rarely goes out on the battlefield, and therefore has very little opportunity to injure himself

4.)How vain is your character? Do they find themselves attractive?

Sodium isn't doesn't have a vain personality at all. He doesn't even really think about himself as attractive, and just as another man in the sea of men. The word rarely crosses his mind, even as he dresses himself in the morning. What he truly worries about is looking proper.

5.)What's your character's ranking on the KINSEY SCALE?

With his personalty, one could almost say Sodium is asexual. It really does appear like he has no interest in either sex. However, there is a part of him who would like to one day start a family, as much as he fears the idea of screwing up. There have been plenty of moments when he looks at women and feels a stirring in both his heart and gut, but he rarely acts any of this out.

6.)Describe your character's happiest memory.

His ninth birthday party. Sodium's siblings had all been present, he'd received his favorite flavor in cake and all his presents had been home made gifts which he continues to have to this day. A few of the other members of families had been there, such as Scandium and Cadmium and everybody had spent a good amount of time just screwing around and playing games.

7) Is there one event or happening your character would like to erase from their past? Why?

Without a doubt, the death of Beryllium. He continues to believe that the death was unjust and did no good for the world his family lived in. Because of this, he has no relationship to religion and believes it to be a stupid, petty way of escaping reality. He misses his brother dearly, as well as the order of the family and Lithium's happiness.

8.) Day of Favorites! What's your character's favorite ice cream flavor? Color? Song? Flower?

Sodium never really eats ice cream, and if he's absolutely forced to, he'd probably just eat vanilla. He has no favorite color, but knows blue is a good color on him so long as it's light. That or grey. His favorite song is Fairie's Aire and Death Waltz, finding it to be an amusing composition of notes. His favorite flower is the Snapdragon for its ability to withstand the frozen temperatures of late winter/early spring.

9.)  Who does your character trust?

There are two basic types of trust Sodium has – the one in his family which is deep rooted and sincere, and the one he has in the Metals overall family, which is present and he trusts them, but there is very little he tends to discuss. He doesn't really open up to them but he'll help them with their needs and try his best to make their lives easy as well.

10.)Can you define a turning point in your character's life? Multiples are acceptable.

When the older siblings taught him how to be a loving family, when the death of his brother shook their establishment, when Lithium took over as a leader, and a certain encounter with a certain woman. Not in any particular order.

11.)Is there an animal you equate with your character?

You know, this is a silly question for most characters.

12.)How is your character with technology? Super savvy, or way behind the times? Letters or email?

As mentioned before, Sodium is extremely savvy with technology. It is his hands which constantly update software, create new software, it is his vigilance and his hard work that makes sure all of their tech works constantly. He can also repair weapons if absolutely necessary, but that definitely takes him a longer time than if it were a computer or something as such. He uses his phone to contact people, and that and his laptop are the only pieces of technology he'll carry about. His phone is a bit of a hybrid though due to how much he's messed with this in the past.

13.) What does your character's bed look like when he/she wakes up? Are the covers off on one side of the bed, are they all curled around a pillow, sprawled everywhere? In what position might they sleep?

Sodium's bed is very neat, even when he wakes up. The blankets are pretty much unmoved and his pillow lays flat against the bed. The only real sense of someone being here is the indent of his head in the pillow and the wrinkles in the blankets. He sleeps on his left side, always facing his desk where if there's an emergency, he can simply shoot up and grab his glasses from the left bedside table. The lamp is also on that side so it helps him to know he can reach a light.

14.)How does your character react to temperature changes such as extreme heat and cold?

Sodium has a hard time articulating certain things as is, so complaining about the changes in weather isn't really his style. Instead, he would try to make that those around him are warm or chill, and that they are the ones comfortable. Then he'll go and fix the situation for himself.

15.)Is your character an early morning bird or a night owl?

If it's possible to be both, then Sodium is definitely that. There will be nights where he'll stay up rather late working on projects, but he always manages to get up before the sun has completely risen. Because of this, he tends to have circles under his eyes which can be scary against his pale complexion.

16.)Are there any blood relatives that your character is particularly close with, besides the immediate ones? Are there any others that your character basically considers a relative?

Outside of the family, Cadmium is the only other person he really talks to. They often go out for a calm night at a bar or restaurant or go to do laundry together. To Sodium, Cadmium is another brother.

17.) What's your character's desk/workspace look like? Are they neat or messy?

The tech room is absolutely neat at all hours of the day, however, stepping into a his room is stepping into the wonderland of stacks of paper everywhere with books and pens and all sorts of important documents. His bed and the closet are the only clean spaces, but every other corner is a walking hazard.

18.)Is your character a good cook? What's their favorite recipe, whether they're good or not? (Microwave mac-and-cheese applies.)

Aside from the tech room, the only other room he spends so much time in would have to be the kitchen. He can usually be found assisting Cesium as she cooks, or brewing up some sort of snack for people here or there. The way he takes care of people is how he shows he cares since he doesn't really understand any other way to, so he often cooks. Most of the plates he makes are simple, nothing quite in comparison to Cesium, but his specialty would definitely have to be spaghetti. It is the only time, too, where the area around him becomes messy.

19.)What's your character's preferred means of travel?

Cars, if not, he'll take the bus. He doesn't really like walking because of the feeling of exposure he gets.

20.)Does your character have any irrational fears?

His fear of moths, also known as mottephobia.

21.)What's a recent goal your character has had?

To keep his sister from falling into a ridiculous relationship with the hooligan from the Noble Gas family. It isn't so much that he doesn't want her to fall in love or anything, it's more like he's worried that the guy will leave her broken hearted. To him, after so much research, Xenon seems like an unstable character, and he only wants something stable for his sister, who is already a rather spontaneous character herself.

22.)If your character could time travel, where would they go?

Back to a time where the family was all together and happy. If not there, then probably Italy during the Renaissance or Egypt during the height of its period just to see some of the history he actually likes.

23.)Is your character superstitious?

No, not at all.

24.)What might your character's ideal romantic partner be?

This is a difficult question. With Sodium's personality, he'd be looking for somebody who shows confidence and can be absolutely reliable and loyal. However, he doesn't want somebody completely overbearing either, and perhaps somebody who could show him the proper way to express himself. A cold woman is sort of a turn on, but it will also push him away really easily if it's too apparent. He doesn't necessarily care about looks, but he has a soft spot for women with darker hair.

25.)Describe your character's hands. Are they small, long, calloused, smooth, stubby?

His hands are average size, but he has slender fingers due to how much time he's always spent on the computer. From time to time, he'll put those to use on the piano as well. The skin is rather smooth, the only callous on his hand is the on his left hand, third finger before the pinky due to how much he writes and takes notes too.

26.)Second day of favorites! Favorite comfort food, favorite vice, favorite outfit, favorite hot drink, favorite time of year, and favorite holiday.
Favorite comfort food: Cesium's sweet cinnamon apple pie.
Favorite Vice: Addiction to constantly being updated to information?
Favorite Outfit: Black pants, a light blue shirt underneath a black cardigan and his favorite pair of grey shoes. Will sometimes wear a beanie or sorts with it. It's the … least formal thing he owns.
Favorite Hot Drink: Coffee
Favorite time of the Year: Winter/Spring
Favorite Holiday: Christmas simply because he likes the cheer everybody seems to have

27.)Pick two songs that describe your character at two different points of their life, and explain why you chose them.

We Will Become Silhouettes – Postal Service. The lyrics themselves basically explain why....

28.)If your character's life was a genre, what would it be?

A drama, mostly a drama and a slice of life sort of thing. With a tinge of very little romance. Little.

29.)How does your character smell? Do they wear perfume or cologne?

Sodium always smells clean; like laundry, like he's just fresh out of the shower. The only time he won't smell like that is when you catch him at night and the scent of coffee has assimilated into his clothes, give him a slightly sweet disposition.

30.)And finally: Write a letter to your character, from yourself.

Dear Sodium,

This is quite a difficult letter to write. I've sat here thinking about it for a while, and I feel like part of the reason this is so hard is because you're life has been hell, and I'm basically to blame. And, to be honest, I'm  also worry about what your future will be like. Nothing that has passed by you has been an easy task, and even as your younger sister slowly pulls out from under your wing, I continue to make it worst, though that's probably one of the hardest things to handle. You're a sweet, young man with so much potential. You've got yourself such an incredible, nurturing spirit and you're still so hard on yourself. You tell yourself you don't know how to feel but to be honest, I think you're the complete opposite of that. Instead, you bury those emotions because you don't want to be scared anymore, you don't want to lose anything again. You don't want to hurt others by showing them all these thoughts and emotions. And like most of my characters, I can't seem to change that because you've grown into this person on your own. Allow yourself some space, but please don't forget that there is so much more to the world to see and that protecting everybody doesn't always have to be on your shoulders alone. You don't have to be constantly updated on the happenings of the city, or constantly worried of what the future holds. Let go of some of that and try to live right now. You're young, so you don't necessarily have to go looking for your soul mate either, and you don't have to go out and be spontaneous and fun or anything. Just enjoy yourself and take walks or something, anything. Look, I'm sorry about everything that's happened to you. And especially, I'm especially sorry about Manganese. I thought, for fun, I'd give you a love interest, and while I looked through possibilities, she struck me as one that you would like. And the chemistry I felt would occur between you two was great. But it was too easy and it wasn't like her to hold onto something that long. She's an individual spirit and so to make sure she stayed the same, I had to break your heart. It was back in high school, wasn't it? A while after the death of your dear brother. I put salt on a wound for you. And maybe that's why you're like this now, and I seem so unable to do anything for you. Perhaps I'll lighten up for your sake.... I don't want you broken forever. Please forgive me, Ethan.

Yours truly,
Diana

P.S. I love how you never use contractions in your speech.
